Biocórdoba is the meeting place for Andalusian organic food, leader in organic production with 48% of the surface area certified in Spain and 7.5% of the European area. It brings together the main players in the sector to analyze and debate the challenges, emerging trends and challenges. Organize activities and experiences, aimed at all citizens, related to the promotion of a balanced diet for people and the planet; food waste reduction; reuse and recycling; agricultural innovation. In 2018 it reaches its 22th edition as one of the reference events in Spain for organic food.
Spain has reached the top ten of the world’s bio markets, with 1,453 million euros of domestic turnover, 40 percent more than two years ago. This was the greatest increase recorded worldwide. At the same time, Spain remains the European country with the largest area farmed organically, surpassing two million hectares. 51.8% of these hectares are located in Andalusia.
Biocórdoba is the place to be to meet this new reality.

The participating companies in biocórdoba_meeting will have the opportunity to present their products together with chefs specialized in organic food. Organic foods come to broaden our idea of quality. Tasty, healthy and sustainable are already the essential food requirements to be approved by today’ society.
Wine Tunnel «Ecoracimo Awards» and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tunnel «Ecotrama Awards» attended by sommeliers and professional tasters. The visitor will have the opportunity to know the best organic extra virgin olive oils and wines, recognized with the Ecoracimo and Ecotrama Awards. During the Biocórdoba event, the award ceremony for the top prizes of the Ecotrama and Ecoracimo 2018 Awards will take place.
Biocórdoba organizes national and international business meetings, through a previous agenda. Attendees will select a personal agenda of pre-arranged bilateral (B2B) meetings between organic producers, national and international distribution chains and the HORECA industry. In collaboration with EXTENDA, 20 international buyers from 10 countries will attend Biocórdoba.
The Technological Congress for Organic Food will be held on 4 and 5 October to provide a platform to the organic industry in technology and innovation to discuss and exchange their ideas and research experience for the benefit of the society.

The Historic Center of Cordoba, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, becomes, for a few days, an extension of the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones.
Biocórdoba_Ecomarket: October 5th and 6th at the Gran Capitan Boulevard from 10:00-21:00h. Organic farmers will sell their products directly to the consumer. Tastings and promotional activities for children and adults.
Promotion at point of sale. From the 4th to the 14th of October in Andalusian establishments: specialized stores, supermarkets and hypermarkets.
One square meter. Speed tastings at the taverns, restaurants and shops of Cordoba. Organic producers talk about their products with groups of 5 people during 15 minutes. Each producer will stay in an establishment for 1 hour and will talk with 4 groups. Each establishment will host 2 producers. 1M2 is a meeting place between producers and citizens to talk about gastronomic pleasure, men and women in the countryside, the neighborhood store, commitment to the community and food. 1M2 is integrated into the daily activity of the establishment, without interrupting it, as a celebration of organic food.
